On June 28, 2016 the University Learning Resource Center (ULRC) in collaboration with the Philippine Librarians Association Inc. (PLAI) Region XII and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) conducted its extension activities at the Bai Matabai Plang (BMP) Custodial Center (Orphanage) of Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST) at Doruluman Arakan, Cotabato. The undertaking aimed to help the marginalized and underserved group to have equal access to information.
The University Learning Resource Center (ULRC) conducted its annual Library Staff Enhancement Program last May 30 to June 2, 2016. Highlights of the event included the reecho session, benchmarking and team building activities. Various topics were presented and discussed by the speakers during the reecho session. The speakers during the reecho session were the ULRC librarians who attended seminars, conferences and congress in the provincial, regional and national level.
The Philippine L i b r a r i a n s A s s o c i a t i o n Incorporated (PLAI) in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), through the National Committee on Libraries and Information Services (NCLIS) and the National Library of the Philippines (NLP), conducted a National Congress on November 24-27, 2015 at Plaza del Norte Convention Center, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte with the theme “ASEAN 2015: Borderless Librarianship, Limitless Opportunities”. Dr. Anita C. Sornito, Executive Vice President for PLAI Mindanao and Director of Libraries of the USM Learning Resource Center, together with Susan S. Martinez, head of Technical Services and Dielita M. Garcia, USM faculty of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) attended the Congress.
